RUSHVILLE REPUBLICAN JUNE 10, 2007:

James R. Adams, 70, of New Salem died Saturday, June 9, 2007 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born Oct. 10, 1936 in Columbus, he was the son of Lois and Sarah (King) Adams, both deceased. He married Joretta J. Jarman March 22, 1956; she survives.

Mr. Adams lived in Rush County most of his life and was a former construction worker. He was a former member of Eagles Lodge 2036.

Survivors in addition to his wife include one son, James R. Adams Jr. (and wife Angie) of Laurel; three daughters, Jane Carey of Greensburg, and Ann Frazier and Linda S. Gilpin, both of Rushville; one half sister, Cindy Richardt of Evansville; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, John Adams.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville with the Rev. Gerald Holdman officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
