The funeral service for Iva Bell Hodges of Paris was scheduled at 2 p.m. Monday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Tony Michael was to officiate. Burial was to follow in Olive Branch Cemetery between Cottage Grove and Como.
Chosen as pallbearers were Horace and Curtis Roberts, Danny and Chris Dawson, Donnie Dixon and Austin Weldon.
Visitation was Sunday and today.
Hodges, 88, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at Weakley County Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Dresden.
Born in Paris on Jan. 13, 1921, she was a daughter of John P. and Priscilla Insco McWherter, both now deceased.
She was married in September 1934 to Mitchell Hodges, who died Dec. 28, 1990.
Hodges was a member of Jolley Springs Baptist Church and a homemaker. Her son, Burnis Hodges of Dresden and a granddaughter, Bonnie Woodruff said she loved to sew, grow flowers, her dog "Baby" and a good chew of tobacco.
She also leaves one daughter: Dorothy (Horace) Weldon of Gleason; one other son: Fred Hodges of Nashville; a daughter-in-law: Patsy (Burnis) Hodges of Dresden; one sister: Ivania Holley of Dresden; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a son: Bobby Dean Hodges; two sisters: Lela Tucker and Ruth McWherter; two brothers: J.P. McWherter and Wilbert McWherter; and three grandchildren.
