John W. Shan, 69, of Harrisburg, formerly of Olney, died at 8:28 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 1998, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Rev. C. Douglas Rorex officiating. Burial will be in Crest Haven Cemetery in Claremont.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
John Shan was born May 22, 1928 in Richland County, the son of Russell L. and Edna (Rusk) Shan. He married June Ann Wolff March 22, 1951. She preceded him in death June 4, 1987. He married Suzanne Aljabori July 12, 1997.
He was retired from Roadmaster in Olney. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Olney. He was a Navy veteran and a member of the VFW.
He is survived by his wife; one step-son, Sean Aljabori of Arizona; one step-daughter, Sarah Gebhard of Michigan; two brothers, Steve Shan and his wife Arletta of Olney and Jerry Shan and his wife, Marilyn of Noble; four
sisters, Janet Miler and her husband, Ray, of Robinson; Carol Peters of Roseville; Betty McKnight of Ft. Worth; and Floy Sterchi and her husband, Robert, of Olney and nieces and nephew, Mike, David, Craig, Lonnie, Mark and Matthew Shan; Glenn Miller, Jim McKnight, Sharon Waggoner, Melanie Pamp, Shan Balmer and Laura Meyer.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, parents, one brother, two sisters and one nephew.
