EMPORIA, KS - Mary Katherine Butcher, 84, Emporia, Kansas, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at Newman Regional Health Center, Emporia, Kansas.
She was born Jan. 27, 1920, in Earlton, the daughter of Thomas and Ada (Bailey) Lacen.
On Jan. 5, 1941, she married Argyle Butcher, in Earlton, Kansas. He died July 10, 1965.
She was a bookkeeper for Emporia Glass Company for 27 years. She retired in 1994.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Newman's Hospital Auxiliary, and the Emporia Garden Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Norton, Topeka, KS; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Edger Lacen.
Funeral services will be Dec. 6, 2004, at Grace United Methodist Church in Emporia, KS, led by Pastor Mic McGuire.
Her body will be donated to the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Memorials to Grace United Methodist Church may be left with the funeral home.
