She was the daughter of Henry Clyde and Essie Lee Christian Walkup. She attended school at Ashland and married Bobby Lee Tinker on June 4, 1954, in McAlester. She owned and operated the Playland Nursery in McAlester for 16 years. She was of the Baptist faith and she was a leader for Brownie and Girl Scout troops. She enjoyed cooking, crafts and needlepoint. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Jo Beth Tinker and Randy Humphrey, of McAlester, and Tammy Stanton, of Alabama; five grandchildren, Pfc. Jason Kyle Tinker, United States Marines, Pensacola, Fla., Bradley Cole Wingo, of McAlester, Jaylon Alan Jennings, of Hartshorne, Garrison Thomas Stanton, of Alabama, and McKinsey Lee Stanton, of Alabama. Also, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Eual and Lenore Walkup, of Savanna, and Robert Walkup, of Coalgate; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Robert Jones, of McAlester, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Essie Walkup; her husband, Bobby Lee Tinker, on Sept. 30, 1995; a brother, Joe Walkup, and a sister, Janice Meeks. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Jamie Kirkpatrick officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.
