John H. Bone, 83, retired merchant and justice of the peace at Mt Pleasant, died at his home Friday. He was a life-long resident of Mt Pleasant. He retired in 1934, after having operated a store in Mt Pleasant 26 years.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Barren Fork Presbyterian Church, of which he was an elder 40 years, by the Rev Shaw Scates, assisted by Dr T. S. Hickman. Burial was in the Barren Fork Cemetery. He is survived by a son Robert Bone of Mt Pleasant and a half-brother and a half-sister.
