William Gregory Glover, 46, 4714 Cricklewood Road, Greensboro, died at his residence on Thursday, March 22, 2007. A memorial service will be held at the Proximity United Methodist Church, Greensboro, on Monday, March 26, 2007 at 7 p.m.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Glover, and two sons, William Griffen Glover and James Duncan Glover at home. He was the only child of James Nall Glover and Kaye Glover Poyner, both of Paducah. He is also survived by several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Boyd Thorpe and Odie May Duncan Thorpe and Daisy Nall Glover, all of Mayfield, Ky.
He graduated from Mayfield High School, and attended Murray State University, until his enlistment in the U.S. Army, serving with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, N.C. He made more than 100 jumps in his four years of duty. He served and participated with the invasion of Granada and upon his return was the invited guest to the White House of President and Mrs. Ronald Reagan. He was also a Kentucky Colonel, a honor bestowed by the governor of Kentucky.
