Last rites for Nat Baily, 76, former Itascan and longtime resident of Grandview, who passed away at his home four miles east of this city at 3:45 AM Thursday, March 30, have been scheduled at the Grandview Methodist Church today, March 31, at 2 PM.
He was the brother of W. Bailey of Itasca. His passing followed an extended illness.
Nat Bailey was a native of Itasca. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. R. K. Bailey, pioneer residents in this section.
Mr. Bailey was reared in this community and was married in 1902 to Miss Tommie Daniel of Itasca.
They moved to Grandview many years ago and the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary there in 1952 with many Itasca relatives and friends in attendance.
Interment will be in the Grandview Cemetery under direction of Kay-Holloway Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nat Bailey of Grandview, four sons, Loyd and Sam Bailey of Grandview; Rufus and Houston Bailey of California; three daughters, Miss Fannie Ann Bailey of Grandview; Mrs. Hascue Collins of Texas City, and Mrs. Minnie Claypool of Oklahoma; two brothers, Wolse Bailey of Itasca, and Charlie Bailey of Waco; one sister Mrs. Lula Baer of Houston and a number of grandchildren.
