Died 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1992, at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. He was 63, a native of Sikes, and a resident of Baton Rouge. He was a retired U.S. Army sergeant with 23 years active military service. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 10 a.m. until religious services at 3 p.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Norris Curry. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Survived by five sisters, Louise Yelverton, Baton Rouge, Hilda Shipp, Prairieville, Christine Nettles, Deer Park, Texas, Freda White, Monroe, and June Kennedy, Falls Church, Va.; and a brother, Jim H. "Bud" Brister, Baton Rouge.
Preceded in death by two sisters, Elouise Strickland and Grace Campbell.
