George F. Savage, 80, of Germantown, died Wednesday morning near Ashton. He was born in West Virginia, a son of the late George and Martha (Ballenger) Savage.
Until his retirement six years ago, Mr. Savage owned and operated a sawmill in Germantown. He was a member of the Pioneer Coonhunters Club.
He leaves three sons, David G. Savage and Carlton T. Savage of Laurel, and Robert A. Savage of Bowie; and four daughters, Mrs. Francis Venable of Silver Spring, Miss Shirley Savage of Savage; Mrs. Mary Heflin of Washington, and Mrs. Jane Rooney of Laurel; a brother, Joseph M. Savage of Poolesville; three sisters, Mrs. Maudy Baker of Gaithersburg; Mrs. Leolia Pool, Rockville, and Mrs. Susan McAtee, Gaithersburg; 12 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friend may call at the Hilton Funeral Home in Barnesville Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be from the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.
