Jefferson P. Gregory was the son of Nathaniel Gregory and Sarah Tribby, and brother to Joseph Hampton Gregory. He married Sarah Skeen (or Skeans) in or near Hillsboro, Ky., in 1883. Sarah had a child, either out of wedlock, or from a previous marriage (unsure which) and this child was adopted by Jeff. Jeff and Sarah had seven more children. Milner Smith Gregory was one of his sons, and is buried nearby.
