The Rev. George Q. Adams, 86, retired Baptist minister, and native of Sikes, died at his home in Crowville Wednesday at 5 p.m., after a lengthy illness. He had resided in Franklin Parish for a number of years, where he pastored various churches during that time.

Last rites were conducted at the Hurricane Grove Baptist Church, Winn Parish, at 2 p.m. January 19, 1961 with the Rev. B. G. Dyess officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

In addition to his widow, Mrs. Ella Busby Adams, of Crowville, survivors are a son, Lawson Brister, of Baton Rouge, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
