Visitation: The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, December 26, 2008 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Mrs. Alexander will be placed in the church at 10:00 am on Saturday.

MRS. EVELYN H. ALEXANDER
December 26, 1922 – December 24, 2008
STARR, SC
Mrs. Evelyn Manning Hillhouse Alexander, age 85, of 302 Island Point, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at the Regency Hospital of Greenville.
Born in Anderson, SC on December 26, 1922, Mrs. Alexander was a daughter of the late Melvin "Pad" Porter Hillhouse and Ruby Manning Hillhouse. She was a 1940 graduate of Girls' High School and attended Winthrop College. She was a former resident of North Myrtle Beach, SC where she helped her husband in the motel industry. She was a member of the Anderson County Woman's Club, a former member of St. John's United Methodist Church and was presently a devoted member of Ruhamah United Methodist Church in Starr.
Survivors include her son, Ron Alexander and grandson, Barry Alexander of North Myrtle Beach, SC and a sister, Laura Jo Berry of Starr, SC.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Frederick Alexander; sons, John Alexander, Jr., Barry K. Alexander, Bill Alexander and Bob Alexander.
