Margaret Calkins, 81, of Ionia, passed away Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at her residence.
She was born April 23, 1921 in Ionia, the daughter of Burt and Rose (DeGrow) Secord.
She would go on to marry Archie Calkins on April 20, 1940.
She was a member of the Ionia Golden Years Club. She loved playing Eucher at the Ionia County Commission on Aging, and she loved to camp.
She is survived by her son Gary (Rosalie) Calkins of Ionia; daughters Sue (Russ) Misner of Ionia, Barbara (Carl) Wright of Crystal and Sara (Mark) Fosburg of Ionia; sisters Bessie Currier of Grand Haven and Bea (William) Graham of Diamondale; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Archie in 1991 and her son Buddy Calkins in 1945.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. monday at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with the Rev. Kirk Starkweather officiating. Interment Balcom Cemetery.
Visitation is 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
