She was born March 2, 1934 in Ft. Scott, KS the daughter of Raymond and Ella (Terril) Benskin. She moved from Fort Scott as a young adult and has lived in the Pittsburg area all of her adult life. Helen married Clifford Arthur on March 24, 1952 in Girard; he survives at the home. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She had attended the Salvation Army Church.
Survivors include her husband Clifford of the home; 2 daughters Terry Peters and husband Bill of Pittsburg, Melissa York and husband Jeff of rural Galena; a brother Gene Benskin of Pittsburg; 2 sisters Alean Krimminger of Pittsburg, Bonnie Pendergraft of Springfield, MO; 6 grandchildren — Carrie Johnson, James, Katie and Robert Peters, Adam York and wife Christi and Josh York. Great-grandchildren Jorden, Logan and McKenzie Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Hattie Rigensberg.
Memorial graveside services and inurnment of cremains will be 10 a.m. Monday January 12th at the Crocker Cemetery with Reverend Daryl Gaddy officiating. Friends and family are requested to meet at the cemetery. Friends may sign the register after noon on Sunday at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg.
