Catherine married John Nathaniel Blum (1811-1874) in 1834 in probably Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina. The family spent their entire lives in present day Forsyth County, North Carolina with John working as a miller at the Brushy Fork Mill. Catherine and John were the parents of five known children, namely:
1. Sarah Ann Maria Blum Leinbach (1835-1901)
2. John Jacob Blum (1839-1839)
3. Sophia Antoinette Blum (1842-1867)
4. Jane (Jennie) Catherine Blum Cooper (1845-1930)
5. Johanna (Hannah or Anna) Lavinia Blum Anthony (1846-1915)
