Funeral services for Loyle Cleburn Banta, 82, of Tuttle, Oklahoma were held at 10:00 am, Monday, February 7, 2005 at the Tuttle Church of Christ.

Loyle Cleburn Banta was born March 2, 1922 in St. Louis, Oklahoma the son of Dell and Vivian (Flatt) Banta and died February 3, 2005 in Tuttle, Oklahoma.

He moved to Tuttle in 1929. Mr. Banta joined the U.S. Navy in 1941 and fought during World War II in the Pacific and was overseas for four years. In 1947 he married Mary Ann McDaniel of Minco.

They had two children. He farmed and worked at Tinker Air Force Base and retired in 1964. He and his wife ran a dairy drive-in and sold milk in the Tuttle area. He also drove a bus for Tuttle Schools. Mr. Banta was a member of the Tuttle Church of Christ. He loved to play dominoes and travel to Lake Texhoma. He was also an avid Tuttle Tiger and OU football fan.

Mr. Banta was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Doyle and Gerald Banta; brother-in-law: Charlie Morris.

Survivors include: Wife: Mary Ann Banta of the home; one son: Rick Banta and wife Connie of Tuttle, OK; one daughter: Lisa Pendleton and husband Larry of Shawnee, OK; two sisters: Thelma Morris of Snyder, OK, Linda Beth Weimer and husband Phil of Corvallis, OR; Grandchildren: Jaree Spurlock and husband Lance of Kingston, OK, Kristy Humphrey of Bethany, OK, Keely Humphrey of Moore, OK, Rusty Humphrey of Stillwater, OK, Sharie Banta of Edmond, OK; Great Grandson: Jalen Wicks of Bethany, OK; various nieces and nephews.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Tuttle.
