Ida Lillian was the daughter of Jones Redding "Doney" Stewart and Emma Veronica "Blakely" Stewart. She married David Cooper Hitt. son of Henry Hitt and Tabitha Jane "Swindoll" Hitt. They were the parents of five children.

Mrs. Ida Hitt

Mrs. Ida Lillian "Stewart" Hitt, widow of the late David Cooper Hitt, died at Grenada County Hospital in Grenada on Monday, June 9, 1980. She was 89.

Mrs. Hitt was a native of Webster County, born November 10, 1890. She made her home in Webster County for many years. But after Mr. Hitt died, she made her home for a number of years with her daughter, Mrs. Eula Mae Hood at Stewart, before going to Grenada to her other daughter's, Mrs. Ruby Fox.

She was a member of Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Church.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, June 10, at 2 p.m. at Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Church.

Officiating were the Rev. Norris Corley and the Rev. D. C. Hartley. Burial was in Embry Cemetery with Oliver Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Bobby Blaylock, Lloyd Hood, Raymond Hitt, Robert Hitt, Ronnie Parker, and Gorden Bonner.

Mrs. Hitt is survived by two daughters Mrs. Eula Mae Hood and Mrs. Ruby Fox and two sons, Oris Hitt and Howard Hitt, both of Grenada.

She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 31 great¬grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren and three brothers, Mammye Stewart of Brighten, Tennessee, Walter Stewart of Sardis, and Joe Stewart, Grenada.
