Services for Mrs. Flora Erlyne Bingham, age 79, of Newton, MS will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2009, at the Newton United Methodist Church in Newton, MS, with Reverend Tom Sorrell officiating. Burial will be in the Newton Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home in Newton, MS today. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements (601-683-2152).

Mrs. Bingham died Saturday, January 3, 2009, at Lackey Hospital in Forest, MS. She was a life long resident of Newton and was employed through the years at the Roxy Theatre, White House Café, MS Highway Department and after retirement was active as a Judicial Bailiff, pink lady at Newton Hospital, and a poll worker. She was a member of the Newton County Historical Society and a member of the Newton United Methodist Church.

Erlyne was an avid football fan of former Mississippi players – Brett, Payton and Eli, never missing a game that was televised. She loved life and all the opportunities that it brought her to make a difference in her community.

Survivors include: William L. Bingham and wife, Susan Wilson of Monroe, GA, Sarah Lewis and husband, Dr. William Lewis of Forest, MS, Beth Brooks and husband, Jerry of Pelahatchie, MS; three grandsons, Warren Hays Bingham and wife, Wendy of Clermont, FL, Britton Bingham and wife, Kate of Winter Garden, FL and Zachory Lewis of Forest, MS; step grandsons, Duane Wilson and wife, Nicole of Monroe, GA and Matthew Wilson and wife, Kristie of Duluth, GA; great grandchildren, Aubrey Ann Bingham of Winter Garden, FL and two more on the way; and many nieces and nephews across the country. Her four legged special family members that miss her dearly are – Daisy, Molly, Thumper, Maggie, Max and Moe.

She was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, William L. Bingham, Sr.; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. O. James; two sisters, Bessie and Gladys; and three brothers, Houston, Cleveland and Milton.

As we say goodbye to a wonderful woman and mother they are welcoming her home! God bless them all.

Pallbearers include: Warren Bingham, Britton Bingham, Zach Lewis, Duane Wilson, Matthew Wilson and Sam Bounds.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Newton United Methodist Church.
