Ruth had lived in the Bixby community virtually all of her life. She was retired from St. Francis Hospital where she worked many years in the linen laundry department. She worshiped at Midwest Agape Chapel and was a longtime active member of the Bixby Senior Citizens Center. When she was not working, she loved fishing and playing dominoes.
She married Floyd Simons on April 13, 1942 and after more than 41 years together, he preceded her in death on September 6, 1983. She was also preceded by 1 son; Gary, 3 brothers; Cecil, Earl & John Earp, 4 sisters; Bessie Earp, Thelma Richards, Opal Smith & Flossie Box.
She is survived by 1 daughter; Jan Chalakee and husband Jim, of Bixby, 1 son; Floyd Simons, Jr. and wife Susan, of Bixby, 1 sister; Lillian Mouser and husband Archie, of Plano, Texas, 4 grandchildren; Gary, Travis & Sam Chalakee and Brian Simons, 4 step-grandchildren; Jamie, Mike, Tabitha & Randy as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
