Mrs. Effie Jane Thomas, age 93, a lifelong resident of Richland County, passed away yesterday afternoon, Jan 27, 1971, at the Richland Memorial Hospital, following a long period of ill health. Born in Decker Township, Mrs. Thomas was the daughter of George Smith and Sue Parker Smith. She was married to Richard Thomas, who preceded her in death on October 19, 1949. mrs. Thomas was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Lora Totten and Mrs. Della Dziuk both of Olney. There are 6 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She has been preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Lydia Ethel Parker, and a sister, Mrs. Della Harvey. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Memorial Chapel of the Summers-Rainey Funeral Home with the Rev. E. H. Moldrick officiating. Interment will be in the Greenhill Cemetery South of Noble. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday.
