Funeral services for Guy L. McElroy, 55 year old timber contractor, were held in the First Baptist Church here, Sunday, following his death on Friday, December 11.

Services were conducted by the pastor, Dr. W. L. Holcomb, assisted by Rev. John Kellogg. Music was rendered by the Baptist Church choir.

Mr. McElroy was born in Atlanta and lived his entire life in this area. He was in the timber business before his death. He had been ill for a long time. He was an ordained deacon in the Baptist Church.

Survivors are his widow, the former Lena Gates; mother, Mrs. J. H. McElroy; two brothers, Dallas McElroy and Ardis McElroy, both of Winnfield; four sisters, Mrs. Ambrose Davis of Shreveport, Mrs. Stephen Juneau of Topeka, Kans., Mrs. B. F. Reinking, Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. L. G. Bates, St. Louis, Mo., and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Charlie Ray, J. W. Kennedy, Sr., E. E. Prince, R. L. Terry, Houston Smith, and Clyde DeLoach.
