Memorial services for Wayne LeRoy Blair, 74, Emporia, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the American Legion Post Home in Emporia. Burial with military honors will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia.

Mr. Blair died Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at his home. He was born Nov. 28, 1934, in Emporia, the son of Clarence L. Hazel P. Fetrich Blair.

He was a longtime general contractor and owned and operated Blair Builders before he retired. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Ticonderoga. He was a member of the American Legion Ball-McColm Post No. 5 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Lowry-Funston Post No. 1980. Mr. Blair married Mary Alice McMurphey on April 21, 1956, in Kansas City, Mo. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include a son, Steven W., Olathe; a daughter, Debra M. Kaniper, Eudora; and a longtime companion, Jean Pattison, Emporia.
