Edna Mae (Hoffman) Benge, age 83, formally of Milford Township passed away Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Golden Years Nursing Center. Edna was born in Hamilton, Ohio on July 29, 1925 to Albert and Nellie Hoffman. She was a 1943 graduate of Seven Mile High School. On November 29, 1944 she married Roscoe Benge and they were happily married for 62 years before his passing in 2006. She enjoyed sewing and cooking, and she always had something baked. Edna loved to talk to people and always had a smile for everyone. She was a long time member of Collinsville Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roscoe Benge and infant sons, Jerry and Dale Benge. She is survived by a son Ronald Benge and his wife Bertha of Hamilton; grandchildren, Christina Bundy and her husband Steve of Okeana and John Benge and his wife Melissa of Hamilton; three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jacob and Adam Bundy; one brother, Elmer Hoffman of Hamilton; brother-in-law Foster Benge and his wife Shirley of Hamilton, sisters-in-law Mary Jane Benge of Hamilton and Lorene Smith of Berea, KY; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Paul Tillett of Freedom Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Collinsville Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff of Golden Years for their loving care of our mother.
