Flora Irene Burke, 81, of Oneida, passed away February 21, 2004, at the Scott County Hospital in Oneida. Born in Kentucky, April 1922, she was preceded in death by her parents, Crit and Mary Bell Kidd Crabtree; her husband, Pat Burke; three brothers: Ernest, Walter, and Kenneth Crabtree; and one sister, Margaret Crabtree. She was a member of Pine Creek Baptist Church for 53 years.
She is survived by six children: Edward Burke and wife, Marian; Arnold Burke and wife, Patricia; Darrel Burke and wife, Nancy; Ray Burke and wife, Terry; Wilma Harness and husband, Jeff; and Mary Lou Terry and husband, Jesse, all of Oneida; 10 grandchildren, special care giving grandchildren, Misty West and Mark Terry; eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, four sisters: Dora Maynard of Holly Springs, Pennsylvania; Nora West of Jeffersonville, Ind.; Lorene Phillips of Stearns, Ky.; and Maxine Ross of Oneida; three brothers: Chester, Bill, and Frank Crabtree, all of Pine Knot, Ky.; and a host of other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted February 23, at Pine Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Marcum and Rev. Robin Duncan officiating. Interment followed in Marcum Kidd Cemetery. West-Murley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
