Marian, age 94, passed away at home surrounded by family. She was born the daughter of Martin & Jean (Murdock) Larsen. Her parents moved to the Larsen family farm, near Elroy, when she was an infant, and where she resided at the time of her death. Marian was united in marriage to Harry Brooks in 1927, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 1975. She was a homemaker, helped her husband with the farm and trucking business, as well as assessor work. She drove school busses, was a school cook, and the Elroy Nutrition site manager before retiring at age 84. Marian was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Crocheting, quilting and pie making were some of her favorite pastimes. Survivors include a son, Robert (Alice) Brooks of Elroy, WI; a daughter, Beverly Kennedy of Green Lake, WI; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl (Genevieve) Larsen of LaCrosse, WI; and sisters, Margaret Gibney of Mauston, WI, and Helen Voigt of Mauston, WI. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Harold; and a son-in-law, Lawrence Kennedy. Funeral services were held at the Elroy United Methodist Church with the Rev. Blake Overlien officiating. Burial followed in the Fowler Prairie Cemetery, Elroy.
