"Mr. Wiley M. Fuller Dead.
SEALE, ALA., MAY 10, 1904. Editor Register: --The news of the death of Mr. Wiley M. Fuller on the 23rd day of April, 1904, at Wichita Falls, Texas will bring profound sorrow to the hearts of his many Russell county friends and acquaintances.
Mr. Fuller was, at the time of his death, principal of the High school at Wichita Falls, Texas, commander of the camp of United Confederate Veterans and a devout member of the Baptist church at that place. Many of your older readers will remember him. He was a member of Hardaway's Battery from Russell county and went to the war in 1861 and was a brave and faithful soldier throughout the entire war.
Soon after the close of the war he removed from Russell county, to the state of Texas, since which time he has been a faithful and successful teacher throughout the Central and Western parts of that state. I learn that for some time prior to his death Mr. Fuller had been in bad health. He was for a long time afflicted with a fatal malady, and his death was not unexpected to those who were familiar with his physical condition.
In all the conditions of life Mr. Fuller was in every sense a true man, and as one of those who loved and admired him for all his good qualities I deem it a great privilege to bear this testimony to his life and character. Very respectfully, T. W. Perry."
