Unity – Lebaron W. Bacon, 69, a native of this Waldo County community and a School Street resident here, died Friday morning, March 18, 1988, at a Waterville hospital following a long illness. He was born January 4, 1919, son of James and Harriet (Shibles) Bacon, and was employed many years as a construction foreman by A. G. Sargent Construction Company of Old Town, retiring in 1982.

He was an active outdoorsman and a former member of the local Independent Order of Odd Fellows lodge. His wife, Helen, died in 1983.

Survivors include his mother of Fairfield; a son, James L. of Unity; a daughter, Mrs. Bryan (Sandra) Clark of Knox; a brother, Erland P. of Waterville; a sister, Frances Pooler of Fairfield; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, Unity.
