Rose Anna Baker, 80, of Port Arthur passed away peacefully on Friday, January 18, 2008 at home.
She was a native of Youngsville, Louisiana, and a resident of Port Arthur for 55 years. She was born to the union of Willie Guidry and Rose Minnick Guidry on April 28, 1927. She was married to the late Herbert Baker Jr. Rose enjoyed traveling, being with family, and she loved life. She was a member of Sacred Heart/Saint Mary Catholic Church for over fifty year. She was also a proud member of The Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary, Court 32, and The Madonna Social and Civic Club.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Baker Jr.; her parents, Willie and Rose Guidry; and her brother, Joseph Raul Guidry.
Rose is survived by her sister, Theresa Doucet of Port Arthur; brothers, Wallace Guidry (Doris), Ivory Guidry (Martha) of Houston, Texas, Eldridge Guidry (Verna) of Youngsville, Louisiana; a sister-in-law, Mary Guidry of Houston, Texas; 7 nieces, 14 nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great, great nieces and nephews, and host of other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Sacred Heart/Saint Mary's Catholic Church from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. A Christian Burial Service will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Charles Atauh, MSP, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
