A memorial service celebrating the life of Pauline Hudson will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell. Inurnment will be at the Canyon Hill Cemetery in Caldwell. Pauline passed away on her 80th birthday surrounded by her family at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Jeane and Larry McCallister.
Pauline and her twin sister, Maxine, were born on Sunday, Nov. 22, 1925, in Caldwell to Orrie E. and Jessie Stradley Hampson. Maxine passed away three days after her birth. Polly grew up and was educated in Caldwell, Weiser and Nampa, graduating from Nampa High School in 1944. Polly married Edward T. Hudson on July 12, 1944, in Caldwell. They resided in Nampa and Boise and their son, Ronald (Mike), was born on Dec. 12, 1946. Ed passed away in a flying accident on July 22, 1957. Polly attended Peacock Beauty School and opened her own beauty shop in 1960. Her kindness and care for her customers always prevailed and her ladies were all very fond of her.
On April 1, 1959, Polly married Lawvon Hudson. After retiring from her beauty shop, Polly worked for a short time at Homedale Auto Supply. Lawvon passed away July 7, 2000. Polly cared for him with constant love and devotion for 18 years following his stroke.
Polly spent her life helping other people. She always worried about children in particular, buying coats and toys for those who had none. She had a special bond with children. They all adored her and were inspired and touched by her gentle spirit. Her generosity and love for everyone will be her legacy.
Polly's greatest joy in life was her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. Throughout her illness, she was always positive and her faith never failed. She was so thankful for the loving care and devotion from her sisters and brothers-in-law, whom she loved so very much.
Polly is survived by her children, Ron (Mike) and Carole Hudson; her grandchildren, Michael and Jonelle Hudson and Samantha, Maxwell and Jacob, Holly and Brian Nogle and Kyler and Caleb; her sisters, Betty Chandler, Jeane and Larry McAllister and Dorothy and John Salove; her step-children, Barry and Sandy Hudson and Pamela Smith, step-grandchildren, Marnie Hudson and Brian Hudson and their children, sisters-in-law, Penny and John Potter, June and Allen Quintieri and Reba Hudson. She is also survived by all her loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Four Rivers Hospice for their special care and guidance.
Memorial contributions may be made in Polly's name to the Ronald McDonald House, 101 Warm Springs Ave., Boise, ID 83712.
