Born in West Virginia, she was the daughter of William B. and Susan H. Snyder Miller. In 1889, she married John W. Guy and was the mother of several children. Their names are: George, Cora, John W., Clarence, Ethel, Stewart F., Charles W., Madeline, and James. They lived in Arden, Berkeley County, West Virginia in 1900 and moved to Fayette County, Pennsylvania about 1901 and lived in Redstone Township. John died in 1912 and Florence had to raise their children on her own. Florence passed away in 1928 and is buried next to her husband.
