Evelyn June Walker, 82, a resident of Russellville, died Monday, August 27, 2007, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 24, 1925, at Atkins to James William and Audrey Hurst Webb. She and her husband, Dale Walker were co-owners of the C & D Drug Store with Charles and Jean Oates. She was a member of the Fifth and Greenwich Church of Christ; the Pope County Democratic Women's Organization; the Junior Auxiliary; the Russellville Garden Club; the Order of the Eastern Star; and was past president of the Russellville High School Parent Teacher Association. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Dale Walker; a son, Robert Dale Walker; a brother, Donald Webb; and two sisters, Marilyn McGrew and Billye Carol Braselton.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Roy Dean and Johnna Walker of Russellville; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyne and Sam Creel of Arlington, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Gail and husband, David Anthes of Russellville; a sister, Virginia Nolly of Fort Plain, New York; a sister-in-law, Earlene Webb of Russellville; eight grandchildren, Jennifer McCarver, Lorin Anderson, Yanci Walker, Carter Walker, Michelle Erwin, Jon Anthes, Will Walker, and Courtney Walker; and many nephews and nieces.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2007, at the Shinn Chapel with Mr. Richard Kirkland officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
Active pallbearers will be Charlie McGrew, Jim McGrew, Bruce Webb, David Oates, Kyle Jones, John David Walker, Timm Murdoch, and Steve Masters. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Oates and Lt. Col. (Ret.) Jerry Walker.
