The Rev. Dr. Frederick A. Bisbee, one of the most noted figures in religious circles in this country and leader in the Universalist Church, died several days ago in Miami, Florida, according to word that has reached this boro. His death comes as a schock to his many friends in this boro. He had preached here a number of times in All Souls Universalist Church, Ocean and Ditmas Avenues. He had been active in the ministry of his church for 46 years.
Dr. Bisbee was born in Nunda, NY, 68 years ago. He was graduated from Tufts College in 1877 and was ordained in the Universalist ministry in the same year. From 1877 to 1883 he was pastor of the Church of the Restoration in Philadelphia, from 1883 to 1898. Subsequently for many years he was editor-in-chief of the Universalist Leader. He was also the author of several will-known works and was a non-resident lecturer of Tufts College and Saint Lawrence University.
Dr. Bisbee is survived by a daughter, Miss Eleanor Bisbee, and a son, John Bancroft Bisbee. The funeral services were held in the Church of the Restoration in Philadelphia on Tuesday, and following cremation, his ashes were interred in the Universalist Shrine at Murray Grove, NJ.
