Howell Loren Burd, 78, of Meta died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 1990 at Meta. He was born Aug. 8, 1911 in Maries County to Warren and Elizabeth Hoskins Burd. On Nov. 4, 1928 he was married in Meta to Amy Viola Adkins, who survives at the home.
Mr. Burd was a member of the Iberia Church of the Nazarene.
Other survivors are a son, Don Burd of Dixon, four daughters, Janice Martin of Iberia, Leila Bassett of Eagle, Colo., Lida Spillars of Mexico, Mo. and Lois Rowden of Meta; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchidlren.
Funeral services willb e held aat 2 p.m. Saturday at Stevinson-Mossman Funeral Home with the Rev. John Bouldrey officiating. Burial will be in the Pendleton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday.
