Mrs. Barney, 94, Passes Away

Mrs. Mary Crandall Barney, 94, a resident of Redlands for the last 25 years, died here yesterday. Her home was at 1621 Bellevue road. , Mrs. Barney was born in Oak Park, Illinois, and was a member of the First Methodist church during her years there. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Bedenick of Redlands, a son, Robert C. Barney of Oak Park, Illinois; and three grandchildren, Rodger, Ross and Robert Barney, all of Oak Park. Graveside services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Hillside Memorial Park. Rev. Willard Schurr, pastor of the Redlands First Methodist church, will officiate. F. Arthur Cortner chapel is in charge.

Services for Mrs. Mary Crandall Barney, a native villager and resident here until 1936, were held in Redlands, California, Thursday, February 16. Mrs. Barney died at her home February 13 following a brief illness. She was 94 years of age.

Born in Oak Park, November 29, 1866, she was a graduate of Oak Park high school, class of 1886. Her husband, the late Erwin Robert Barney, was an attorney and tax counsel for the Chicago Title and Trust company. The Barneys lived on South Kenilworth avenue before moving to California 25 years ago.

Mrs. Barney was a member of First Methodist church and the Nineteenth Century Woman's club.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Bedenick of Redlands, Calif.; a son. Robert C. Barney of Oak Park; and three grandchildren.
