Raymond Thomas Basham, 85, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999, in his home. He was an upholsterer for Kay Chair Co. and a bus driver. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Temple Baptist Church of Fort Smith with burial at Oak Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Avis; three daughters, Margaret Ann Gibbs, Jean Basham and Marilyn Becraft, all of Fort Smith; one son, Tommy Basham of Greenwood; one sister, Cora Clark of Fort Smith; 5 grandchildren, Kathy Workman, Randy Gibbs, Sandee Atkins and Chris and Todd Basham; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tommy, Chris and Todd Basham, Randy Gibbs, James "Red" Workman, Scott Atkins and John and Bill Casey.
