Chauncey Conkey, an old respected citizen of Woodard Lake, died Feb. 16. He was 85 years of age and came to Michigan in 1840, settling near Hubbardston. Ten years later he came to Ionia county, and has since lived in the now Well- known Conkey homestead.
His wife died three years ago and three sons are still living. The oldest is Giles of Grand Rapids, and the other two are Eli and Ira, living on the old place.
The funeral was held Feb. 13, from the home. Interment at Woodard Lake Cemetery.
