Harry Bain, 49, Twin Valley, MN died Saturday, July 22, 2006, in his home under the care of his family and Hospice of the Red River.
Harry Bain was born August 31, 1956, the son of Clayton and Laurita (Cook) Bain in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Harry attended school in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and graduated from Burin, Newfounland. As a young man, Harry operated an apple orchard at Woodville, Nova Scotia for several years. On July 3, 1981, Harry was united in marriage to Debra Myers on Frenchman's Bluff on her parent's farm near Twin Valley, Minnesota. Harry was employed by the Norman County East School as Superintendent of Maintenance for the past 16 years.

Harry treasured the time spent with his family and friends. He was loved by students of all ages and was a mentor to many of them over the years. He was a true conservationist. He was an avid hunter, ice fisherman and enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors. Harry was a Firearm Safety instructor and was an active member of the Wild Rice Conservation Club. He will be long remembered for his creative abilities which allowed him to fix most anything. Being Scottish, he enjoyed playing the bagpipes. Harry is survived by his wife, Debra of Twin Valley, MN; a son, Cyril of Cherry Point, North Carolina; four daughters, Hannah (Dallas) Leichtenberg of Fargo, ND, Althea, Clara and Olivia all at home; father, Clayton of Burin, Newfoundland; a brother, Hughie (Dale) of Woodville, Nova Scotia; two sisters Roxanne Forsyth of Norwalk, Connecticut and Shelley Bain of Woodville, Nova Scotia and mother-in-law, DeLane Myers of Twin Valley, MN.

He is preceded in death by his mother.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 26, 2006, from 5:00PM until 7:00PM with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00PM in the Wild Rice Lutheran Church, rural Twin Valley, MN. Funeral Services will be held Thursday July 27, 2006, at 10:30 AM at the Norman County East School Gymnasium, Twin Valley. Officiating will be Pastor Larry Vigen with Jolee Habedank serving as pianist and Ben Revier serving as vocalist. Pallbearers will be John Habedank, Nick Revier, Larry Swanson, Wayne Bakke, Norman "Butch" Myers and Mike Eklund. Interment will be in the Wild Rice Lutheran Cemetery, rural Twin Valley, Minnesota.
