In the 1880 Census the Kettners are enumerated with their daughter Johanne Meitzen's family in Fayette Co., TX. Johanne (Koetteritzsch) Schulze Kettner died 13 Aug. 1891 and is buried in Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery in Industry, Austin Co., TX. After her death, August moved to Yorktown, DeWitt Co., TX with his daughter Auguste and her second husband, Max Gross, where he died on 4 May 1909. Leopold August Kettner is buried in Westside Cemetery, Yorktown, TX.
