Walter Metcalf, a retired carpenter of Shelbyville, died Thursday in Mundelein, Illinois, at the home of his daughter, following a brief illness. He was 67 years old.

Services were Sunday afternoon in the chapel of Ralston-Lee Funeral Home in Fayetteville with the Rev. Tom Porter officiating. Burial was in the Lincoln Cemetery.

He was the son of the late Willard and Mary Luna Metcalf and husband of the late Mayme Richardson Metcalf.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jimmy Hull of Mundelein, Illinois, and Mrs. Billy McDaniel, Shelbyville; three sisters, Mrs. Lotte Edde, Lewisburg, Mrs. Ollie Chisam, Hazel Green, Alabama, and Mrs. Goldie Rohier, Greenville; three brothers, Frank Metcalf, Houston, Texas, Jim Ed Metcalf, Shelbyville, and Willard Metcalf, Fayetteville; and seven grandchildren.
