KATHLEEN E. LUFKIN, age 71, of Oneida, Illinois died on Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 6:10 A.M. at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois. She was born on September 26, 1937 in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Ernest O. and Lillie J. Anderson Stickle. She married Erwin D. "Bub" Lufkin on February 24, 1957 in Oneida, Illinois. He survives of Oneida, Illinois.
Also surviving are three daughters, Marcia E. Lufkin of Oneida, Illinois, Caren C. Lufkin of Oneida, Illinois and Carol (Russ) Wignall of Aurora, Colorado; one son, Michael (Sharon) Lufkin of Jonesboro, Georgia and two grandchildren, Alisha (Gene) Bockman and Brittany Wignall. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Clyde Stickle and one sister: Mary Louise Bullips.
She was reared and educated in Oneida, Illinois and graduated in 1955 with the first graduating class of the R.O.V.A. High School. She then attended Brown's Business College in Galesburg, Illinois. She was a homemaker and worked as a secretary for F.S. in Galesburg, Illinois and later as a cook for the R.O.V.A. School for 23 years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Oneida, Illinois. She was a member of the Little John Conservation Club in Victoria, Illinois.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 12, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Oneida Cemetery in Oneida, Illinois. Rev. Milton Marquith officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Hurd Hendricks Funeral Home in Oneida, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Greig Library in Oneida, Illinois.
