(1929 – 2005)

MESA, Ariz. – Richard C. Bloir, 75, of Mesa, Ariz. and formerly of Bryan, Ohio, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at the Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa.

Born Aug. 12, 1929, in Bryan, he was the oldest child of Theodosha G. (Hughes) and Charles W. Bloir. He married Barbara A. Holmes on Aug. 20, 1965, at Las Vegas, Nev. and she survives. A 1947 graduate of Edon High School, he served as a sergeant with the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He later became the chief of police for the Bryan Police Department, serving from 1954 to 1959. Other employment included Airborn Research and Development Center in California and owner/operator of a dude ranch, gas station, trailer park and apartment complex in Oregon and Arizona. He attended the Christian Church in Mesa.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Jon H. (and wife, Patricia) Knight of Chandler, Ariz. and Richard H. (Debi) Bloir of Joseph, Ore.; daughters, Mrs. Brian (Jamie) Wilson of Pompano Beach, Fla. and Mrs. David (Jeanie) Teyechea of Apache Junction, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; brothers, Robert Bloir of Edgerton, Jack (Helen) Bloir of Edon, James (Linda) Bloir of Montpelier; sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Betty) Bauer of Montpelier and Mrs. Claron (Mary) Krill of Edgerton; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a young sister, Norma Jean Bloir.

A memorial service will be held at the Mountain View Memorial Garden Chapel in Mesa, Ariz. Following the service, the remains will be returned to the family.
