Stuart D. David, 90, Ruthven, died Thursday, March 18, at the Ruthven Community Care Center.

Services will be held Monday, March 22, at 11a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Ruthven with the Rev. Michael Collins officiating, who is pastor of the Seven Day Adventist Church, Ruthven. Casket bearers will be Brian Davis, Robert Davis, Gary Knoer, Dave Swanson, Dave Gregorson and Harold Calloway.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ruthven. Friends may clal after 2 p.m. Sunday at the Martin Funeral Home in Ruthven. The family will be present between 5-7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Mr. Davis was born April 18, 1902, to George and Essie Quivy Davis. He lived in the Grinnell and Ottumwa areas until 1917, when he moved to Ruthven to work for area farmers. He married Laura M. Nelson on July 12, 1923, in Spencer.

He farmed in the area and was an area businessman, owning a salvage yard and the International Harvester dealership in Ruthven.

He was a member of the Farm Bureau, the Ruthven Enterprise, and the Seven Day Adventist Church in Ruthven. He retired in 1983 and moved into Ruthven.

He was preceded in death by his wife and one son, Paul.

Mr. Davis is survived by four sons; James of Loma Linda, Calif., Charles of Portland, Tenn; Marvin of Ruthven and Russell of Ruthven; one daughter, Marjorie (Mrs. Melvin) Lyon of Portland, Ore; 21 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.
