FUNERAL SUNDAY
Resident of This Community for 52 Years Passed Away on Thursday Last Week

O. B. Nelson, a resident of this vicinity for 52 years, passed away at his home in Ruthven last Thursday, March 6, 1941. He was born in Sweden on April 18, 1862, and on Dec. 03, 1887, was united in marriage to Miss Mathilda Nelson, and they lived on a farm in Sweden until 1889 when they came to America and settled on a farm near Ruthven, Iowa.

In 1895 he joined the Seventh Day Adventist church and held several offices in this church.

He is survived by two sons, Nels and Alfred, and three daughters, Mrs. Mary Nelson, Mrs. Elizabeth Grange, and Mrs. Laura Davis. His wife passed away in 1935 and one daughter died in infancy. He is also survived by nineteen grand children and two great grand children.

Funeral services were held at the Seventh Day Adventist church last Sunday afternoon with Rev. A.L. Miller of Nevada, Iowa , officiating who gave a high tribute to the Christian character, honesty and uprightness of the deceased.

A quartette, Robert Johnson, Jr., Mrs. Rustan, Mrs. Mrs. Clarence Rustan and Burnell Rustan sang, "We Are Going Down the Valley One by One," "Sweet Bye and Bye," and "Asleep in Jesus."

The pallbearers were; Nels Nelson, Ernest Nelson, Chester Nelson, Stuart Davis, Walter Grange and Alfred Nelson. The pallbearers and songs were the same as those at the funeral of Mrs. Nelson six years ago.

Burial took place in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Lightle Funeral Home had charge of funeral arrangements.
