PINEVILLE — Fannie McDaniels-Acord, 78, of Pineville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 18, 2011. Mrs. Acord was a member of the Jesus Way Church in Maben. She enjoyed going to church, cooking, camping and being with her children and grandchildren and always loved to cook for them. Fannie was a special aunt to many nephews and nieces and also loved her church family.

Fannie was born February 22, 1932, in Melvin, KY. She was the daughter of the late William "Bill" McDaniels (Deceased) and Maggie Hall-McDaniels (Deceased). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Vance Acord (1922-1987) whom she married on November 18, 1954 in Raleigh County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Raleigh County, WV, 1954, Page 516, Application Date: November 13, 1954); a brother, Ralph W. McDaniels (1930-1999); sisters, Betty Jo McDaniels-Trader (Deceased), Yvonne McDaniels-Hulvey (1939-Deceased), Annie McDaniels-Faren (Deceased), Connie McDaniels-Williams (Deceased) and Ola Mae McDaniels-Garfery (Deceased); and a daughter-in-law, Mary Friend (Deceased).

Survivors include her three sons, Terry Acord & wife Christie Acord of Pineville, Steve Acord & wife Diane Acord of Pineville and Bill Friend of TN; her grandchildren, Jennifer Friend, Matthew Acord, Kyle Acord, Corey Acord-Fain & husband Brandon Fain, and Chelsea Acord; a great-grandson, Gabriel Acord; and her sisters, Gladys McDaniels-Owens of KY, Bonnie McDaniels-Age of GA, Lina Ellen McDaniels-Hamilton (1938-2020) & husband Rev. Meek Hamilton (1933-2010) of Maben, WV, Rose McDaniels-Burris of Cambridge, OH, and Mary Francis McDaniels of KY.

A celebration of Fannie's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 21, 2011, at the Jesus Way Church, Maben, with the Rev. James Hamilton officiating.
Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny.
