Woodland, Yolo Co., June 13. Robert Chamberlain, nine year old son of Mr. and Mrs S.R. Chamberlain, was instantly killed near Madison, this county, last night, when the car driven by Chamberlain and occupied by his wife and two other children, was hit by a truck belonging to B.T. Brewster of Davis and driven by Samuel Zimmerman. The truck hit the rear of Chamberlain's car, sending it against a bridge. Little baby Chamberlain, 18 months old, was badly hurt, it being thought her skull was fractured. Walter Chamberlain, seven years of age, is believed to be internally injured, and is very low at a local sanitarium. Mrs. Chamberlain is also in the hospital with serious injuries. The accident happened near the corner of the old Madison hotel. The truck was trying to pass the Chamberlain car. Both cars slowed down, the truck then charging ahead at increased speed to clear the road for the little family. Some one became muddled in the road, the accident following. No blame is attached to either driver.
