Rhea was born 27 July 1899 in Bismark, ND and lived the first 2 years of her life in Mandan, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Frank E. Bunting, MD and Mabel Alene Goundry and sister of John Goundry Bunting.
When Rhea was 2 years old, she went to live with her Aunt Mattie and Uncle John Browne, in Wayne, Michigan. Mattie was the half-sister of her deceased grandmother, Maria E. Kreider Bunting. The couple had no children of their own but welcomed Rhea into their home. Rhea adored her Aunt Mattie and Uncle John and always described her years growing up in Wayne as the happiest times of her life. Rhea graduated from Wayne High School in 1919 and returned to Wayne in 1969 to attend her 50th high school reunion.
Rhea lived in Toledo, OH with her first husband, Marcus B. Kohler, a lumber merchant. He died in 1926 shortly after they were married, leaving no children.
Rhea later married William Earle Adams. As a result of William's career in the safe industry, the couple lived in many places—Cleveland, New York, Pittsburgh—finally settling in Hamilton, Ohio. She died 15 Feb 1981 and was buried next to William, who died in 1958. They left to mourn their passings one son and one granddaughter. Rhea also left behind their great-grandson and 2 great-granddaughters.
