Her obituary from the January 13, 1944 Russell County News:
Mrs. Sallie Sullivan was born March 4, 1882 and died January 8, 1944, making her stay on this earth 61 years, 10 months, four days.
She was married to Otha Sullivan in 1901 and to this union were born two girls. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age, placed her membership in the White Oak church. She left her membership there until two years ago. She got her letter, intending to join Bethlehem church but just being so feeble she never felt like going to church any more, but faithfully served her maker every day. Her life has been a beautiful example set before her children and friends. She had a smile and kind word for everyone, bore her suffering with so much patience, always ready to talk to anyone about her savior. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Verna and Jewel, five sisters, four brothers, many relatives, and a host of friends to grieve her passing, yet knowing our loss is heaven's gain.—Contributed.
