Chris Harper, 48, of Hillsboro passed away March 3, 2008, in Hillsboro. Mr. Harper was a vinyl extruder for Borden Corp. He enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling on TV, working on autos and watching big truck competitions. Born May 29, 1959, in St. Louis; he was the son of Evelyn (Schneider) Haithcoast of Festus and the late Raymond Harper. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Rebecca (GoForth) Harper of Hillsboro; one brother, James Haithcoat of Festus; one sister, Brenda Kay Harper of Festus; one stepsister Robin Marie Thorne of Florida; two nephews: Joshua Wendt and Zachary Wendt, and four sisters-in-laws: Carol, Judy, Donna and Brenda. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Eva Frances Colyer, Louis Dale Schneider and Mae and Owen Harper. Funeral services were held March 7 at Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto, officiated by the Rev. Bruce Valle. Burial was in Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in DeSoto. Memorials may be made to St. John's Hospice, 1000 Des Peres Road, Suite 200, St. Louis, 63131. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home, DeSoto Chapel.
