She was the daughter of Edward Kline and donor of the land for Engle Lane Theater and Knox Estates. She made an impact on the community by bringing Girl Scouts to Streator and organizing the first Brownie troop. She served on the Boards of Directors of the YMCA, Salvation Army, United Fund, Streator Clay Pipe Company and on the first St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary Board.
